What is a Life Plan Community?

A Life Plan Community, also known as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), is a residential community for active, independent adults ages 62+ that can feature a variety of residence options, including stand-alone homes and apartments, along with services, amenities, and a continuum of care designed to address the changing needs of residents as they age.

What care services does The Winsberg offer?

The Winsberg is a Life Plan Community offering independent living, assisted living and memory care.

What costs are associated with moving to The Winsberg?

There are two financial components with most Life Plan Communities like The Winsberg: the entrance fee and the monthly fee.

Entrance fee: This is a one-time fee paid when you move into the community. It’s based on the residence you choose, your contract type, and whether it will be just you or you and your spouse living in that residence. A portion of the entrance fee may be refundable.

Monthly fee: This helps pay for the services and amenities at the community. Depending on your contract, the monthly fee may or may not increase if you move to a higher level of care.

What type of contract is offered at The Winsberg?

The Winsberg offers a Type B contract. If care is required, services are provided within independent living apartments for as long as possible. Should the need for advanced services arise, assisted living and memory care are offered at a discount.

What is the advantage of a Type B contract?

With a Type B contract, you will receive the care you need at savings below the market rate; unlike a LifeCare contract (Type A), you’ll never have to pay for services you may not need.
